Permanent Sculpture with Design GUILD

To be sited at the Aaniin Community Centre, the artwork Top Garden will create community involvement and celebration through play. The project consists of a constellation of dynamic sculptures on the public square that encourage direct community engagement and a variety of social interactions. The sculptural forms are enlarged versions of toy tops derived from various cultures. Through their scale, arrangement and movement, they integrate with the proposed landscape treatment, drawing from the geometries of the site and architecture. The tops encourage the community to reinterpret and appropriate the public space by supporting creative, spatial and social play.
